The funeral
service for William Fred Bursey, Sr., 85, of Cleburne, Texas
will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2007, at
Saint Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Sally Fleming and
David Murdoch officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill
Cemetery in Cleburne. The
family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August
16, 2007 at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Bursey, Travis Bursey,
Dale Nichols, Jason Allen, Ben Oefinger, Floyd E. Ormsby III,
Gary Treadwell, Odell Atwood and Josh Dobson. Honorary
pallbearers will be the Fidelis Class and Robert McMinn.
William Fred Bursey, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, August 14,
2007 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born in Fort Worth on
October 3, 1921, the son of Dr. E.H. Bursey and Florence Blunt
Bursey. He married Frances Evans Allen on October 3, 1983 in
Cleburne.

Fred was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who
loved his family and his life on the ranch. He was a rancher
for sixty-seven years and belonged to the Texas Wagon Train
Association. He was a member of the Texas Cattle Raisers
Association and the Johnson County Historical Commission.
Among his accomplishments was the title of Texas State and
Regional Pistol Champion and Tarrant County Firearms
Instructor. He was a member of the Fidelis Class at St. Mark
United Methodist Church. Fred was a graduate of Texas Tech
University and later became an accomplished author, clinical
hypnotherapist and counselor. Fred was a 50-year member of the
Cleburne Masonic Lodge #315.
William Fred Bursey, Sr. is survived by his wife of 24 years,
Frances Bursey; his daughter, Dr. Sheridan Nichols of Ft.
Worth; sons, William Fred Bursey, Jr. and wife Cindy of
Haslet, Greg Bursey and wife Charleta of Cleburne; Jim Allen
and wife Pattie of Columbus, Ohio, and Mike Allen and wife
Janice of Arlington; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren;
and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
his parents; brother, Ernest Bursey; sister, Florence Mae
Bilbrey; wife, Geraldine Bursey and great-grandson, Patrick
Keoughan.
Memorials may be made to the Saint Mark United Methodist
Church budget fund.
